Improves the skin elasticity

Elasticity

The contribution to the formation of the collagen and the protection of the skin against oxidative damage by air pollution and UV radiation by vitamin C are important for maintaining the firmness and elasticity of the skin. In order to also support the formation of the collagen in the underlying layer, the Dermis, it is important to work from the inside, through the network of small capillaries. Collagen is important for the firmness and elasticity of the skin and for the connective tissue in the skin. This also plays an important role in the appearance: the skin remains “plump”, remains “thick”, and generally remains well-hydrated.

Why support matters

As long as we are young, our body produces enough collagen and elastin fibers, so that there is a balance between breakdown and renewal of these proteins. Age, as well as external factors, including the oxidative damage to healthy skin cells from air pollution and UV radiation, can influence this balance between breakdown and formation of collagen, among others.

Oxidative damage from UV rays

When we help our body to protect itself sufficiently against oxidative damage by air pollution and UV radiation, we also contribute to the capture of free radicals in body cells. The body's own enzymes (Matrix Metalloproteinase (MMPs)) are then left “off”, which helps to keep the balance between breakdown and renewal intact.
